Discovering how and why tsunamis occur, the hazard they pose to our coasts, understanding what to do in order to mitigate the effects of tsunamis. The knowledge of tsunami risk and information on the optimal behavior to adopt in the case of tsunami are the condition to reduce its potentially catastrophic impact.
